Child’s World America Joins the #GivingTuesday Movement
Child’s World America has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
AARP is the voice of senior citizens, but who speaks up for children? Every day, children’s issues are swept under the rug. The public doesn’t hear about:
- Childhood hunger and homelessness
- Sexual abuse of children
- Children deprived of play
- Politicians’ failure to act on behalf of kids
Recently, Congress dropped the ball on renewing funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). They were too focused on partisan squabbling to consider what was at stakes: children’s lives. Now, children’s health programs are shutting down, putting 9 million American kids at risk.
While all this was happening, the media chose to focus on NFL protests and the return of pumpkin spice.
So the story goes for children’s issues. Child’s World America was founded because most Americans don’t know what kids in our country are facing. Since our inception, we’ve covered stories on child sex trafficking, the detrimental effects of banning risky play, what happens to the children of incarcerated parents, and a lot more.
Our goal is to stand up for children and make sure their rights remain at the forefront of public policy discussions. Most importantly, we promise to shine a light on problems nobody’s talking about.

Child’s World America is a member-based nonprofit organization committed to improving children’s lives in the U.S. We promote the appreciation of children’s perspectives and foster a better understanding of childhood experience by facilitating collaboration and dialogue between individuals, professionals, and organizations committed to helping children.
We seek to help create and support a community that speaks with a united voice on behalf of children aged 0-18, educating society and advocating for child-centered public policies. Our goal is to catalyze the measurable improvement of child well-being in America.
Child’s World America is a catalyst for the movement to improve the well-being of America’s children.
We accomplish this by:
- Promoting the appreciation of children’s perspectives and fostering a better understanding of childhood experience.
- Organizing collaboration and dialogue across individuals, professionals, and organizations committed to helping children.
- Together, creating a community with a united voice for educating and advocating for child-centered public policies.
Child’s World America envisions an American society where children are valued as individuals in the present and collectively as the embodiment of our future, and where their perspectives, rights, needs, welfare, and aspirations are given the highest priority. We are committed to helping the U.S. continually improve its rank among the richest countries tracked by and reported on by UNICEF. We would like to see it placed among the top-ten countries by 2025.
